Thesis: From thermal to mechanical: shedding light on novel ways to control cell fate.

Designed and built experimental platforms integrating biomaterials, organic semiconductors, and cell biology across physics, engineering, and biology.
Automated microscopy analysis pipeline with deep learning-based instance segmentation (Cellpose); processing time reduced by 80%, became group reference.
Built custom Arduino-based stimulation platforms enabling automated overnight experiments and increased throughput.
Bridged national and international interdisciplinary collaborations, translating between nanomaterials engineering and cell biology to align experimental objectives.
Introduced reproducible computational workflows adopted across multiple projects within the group.

Nov 2022 – Oct 2023

Postdoctoral Researcher

CNST@IIT, Milan

Scaled automated microscopy pipeline to full production; processing time from 2–3 days to 4 hours through full-cell segmentation.
Coordinated experimental activities and timelines across multiple parallel projects, aligning priorities with senior researchers.
Extended computational workflows, improving measurement precision and reproducibility across the group.

Apr 2024 – Aug 2025

Postdoctoral Researcher

University of California, Irvine

Designed and validated experimental platform for iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte maturation; zero contamination across 1.5 years of continuous operation.
Resolved critical failure point in substrate preparation; failure rate from 50% to under 5%.
Introduced MEA electrophysiology as new lab capability; learned from scratch, established protocols adopted by the group.
Delivered comparative analysis of experimental conditions as go/no-go recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Trained 3 researchers on electrophysiology protocols.
